Since 2000, Mondadori Education (until 2007, Edumond Le Monnier) has produced a complete range of textbooks, courses and supplementary materials, along with multimedia content for all levels, from primary school to high school, with 12 owned brands (A. At the beginning of 2009, Mondadori for English was launched, a new brand dedicated to English language courses and supplementary materials, for middle and high schools. In 2002, through the brands Mondadori Università and Le Monnier Università, Mondadori Education entered the university publishing segment with a wide range of manuals and textbooks. In October 2008, in collaboration with the Italy’s largest university, the first University Press was created, Mondadori Università – La Sapienza.
The prestigious Le Monnier brand completes the company’s offer in the educational market, with publication of high-quality dictionaries (Devoto-Oli for Italian, edited by the country’s two leading linguists: Luca Serianni and Maurizio Trifone; the Latin dictionary il Latino by Gian Biagio Conte, Emilio Pianezzola, Giuliano Ranucci; the Etimologico by Alberto Nocentini) and a series of courses and materials to teach Italian as a second language (L2).
In collaboration with the MIUR – Ministero dell’ Istruzione, dell’Università e della Ricerca (Italian Ministry for Education, Universities and Research) – the company also publishes specialised reviews for schools (Annali della pubblica istruzione, Studi e Documenti degli Annali, Rassegna dell’istruzione) and academic magazines (Archivio glottologico italiano, Archimede, Atene e Roma, Nuova Antologia, Studi italiani di filologia classica, RSA Journal – Rivista di Studi Americani).
