Our commitment to increasingly valuable transparency: the new reporting according to ESRS standards

In compliance with Legislative Decree 125/2024, which transposes Directive (EU) 2022/2464 of the European Parliament and of the Council—known as the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD)—into Italian law, the Mondadori Group has adopted the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS).

The entry into force of the CSRD has represented an important regulatory evolution aimed at improving the quality, consistency, reliability, and comparability of sustainability reporting for companies operating within the European Union.

Starting from the 2024 financial year, the Mondadori Group’s Sustainability Report is, in fact, drafted in full compliance with the ESRS, integrating the content required according to general and sector-specific principles. To support this, the ESRS Content Index is available in the appendix, allowing for the precise identification of the disclosures provided in relation to individual standards.
The reported contents were defined based on the results of the double materiality analysis—namely, Impact Materiality and Financial Materiality—in accordance with the new standards. This process has allowed for the identification of significant impacts, risks, and opportunities along the entire value chain, offering a comprehensive view of the company’s environmental, social, and governance performance, and supporting the creation of long-term sustainable value for all relevant stakeholders.

In 2025, the Group further strengthened its stakeholder engagement process through one-to-one interviews with strategic suppliers and dedicated surveys for readers, teachers, employees, and financial analysts. This constant and transparent dialogue contributed to the Double Materiality Analysis, allowing for a refined identification of material topics.

For the Mondadori Group, the quality, reliability, and verifiability of data represent an essential principle. The reporting process is founded on the criteria of relevance, accuracy, comparability, comprehensibility, and verifiability outlined by the ESRS standards, in order to offer a clear, truthful, and complete representation of our sustainability performance.

The resulting outcomes, which have been shared and examined with the corporate governing bodies, stand as a testament to the commitment with which the Mondadori Group has strengthened its responsibility towards society, the environment, and the economic system of which it is an integral part.
