Our commitment to greater transparency: reporting in line with the ESRS standards

In compliance with Legislative Decree 125/2024, which transposes into Italian law the Directive (EU) 2022/2464 of the European Parliament and of the Council – known as the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) – the Mondadori Group has adopted the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS).

The entry into force of the CSRD marks a major regulatory development designed to improve the quality, consistency, reliability and comparability of sustainability reporting across companies operating in the European Union. Within this framework, the adoption of the ESRS represents a significant step forward in our journey towards accountability and transparency.

Starting from the 2024 financial year, the Mondadori Group’s Sustainability Report is prepared in full compliance with the ESRS, incorporating both cross-cutting and sector-specific disclosure requirements. To ensure traceability, an ESRS Content Index is included in the appendix, providing a clear mapping of the disclosures made in relation to each individual standard.

The reported contents are based on the outcomes of the double materiality assessment – Impact Materiality and Financial Materiality – carried out in line with the new standards. This process has enabled us to identify significant impacts, risks and opportunities across our entire value chain, offering a comprehensive view of the Group’s environmental, social and governance performance and supporting the long-term creation of sustainable value for all relevant stakeholders.

In 2024, as in previous years, we continued our stakeholder engagement activities, aimed at understanding and assessing the material impacts of our operations, guided by an approach of dialogue and transparency.

For the Mondadori Group, the quality, reliability and verifiability of data are non-negotiable principles. Our reporting process is built on the ESRS general principles of relevance, accuracy, comparability, clarity and verifiability, with the goal of providing a true, fair and complete representation of our sustainability performance.
Through this commitment, the Mondadori Group further strengthens its responsibility towards society, the environment and the economic system in which it operates.
