We favour the development of interfunctional projects combining business challenges and the diversity culture in an inclusive approach.
The Wom's first book: a guide to being yourself
"The Wom Power" is the book published by our brand The Wom with Mondadori Electa to inspire and motivate anyone who wants to express themselves freely, beyond prejudices and stereotypes. Each chapter opens with a story written by a #TheWomSquad content creator: stories and testimonies that The Wom shares with its community every day to celebrate the uniqueness of each person and promote the values of diversity and inclusion.
Rizzoli Education for gender equality and plurality
The production of teaching materials involves enormous responsibilities. Our publishing house Rizzoli Education has decided to promote a series of practical activities to focus greater attention on gender equality and plurality, issues that are also at the heart of the 2030 Agenda for sustainable development. The result is a project designed to bring the community, students, their families and teachers closer to the values of inclusion, because plurality of thought can offer new opportunities for everyone. A manifesto presented in October 2021, supported and promoted by the Mondadori Group through the Diversity&Inclusion function.
The Wom, the brand that celebrates everyone's uniqueness
Uniqueness as a strength, inclusivity, gender equality, self-acceptance and sustainability are the core values of The Wom, Mondadori Media's digital brand for millennials and generation Z. To safeguard its mission, The Wom is the first Italian editorial brand to introduce a Gender and Inclusion Committee: an independent body set up to implement the brand's values agenda on the issues of greatest interest to the new generations.
“Equal and Together” for International Women's Day
On International Women's Day 2022, we were among those taking part in the “Equal and Together” campaign organised by Rai - Radiotelevisione Italiana and Associazione Italiana Editori. Personalities from entertainment and culture – including some of our own colleagues, authors and booksellers – came together to talk about the importance of gender equality. The symbol chosen for the event was the “=” sign, to remind everyone that being equal is the objective but that achieving this means first of all being together.
The story of Reha and the other women who fled from Afghanistan
Our web and social magazine The Wom presented “Stories from Afghanistan”: a collection of first-hand accounts written by women who managed to escape from the crisis in Afghanistan and seek refuge in Italy. The first stories were told by Reha Nawin, who arrived in Italy last August, together with her husband and two daughters. Her testimony is, in part, the story of all the women who are still in Afghanistan.
Mondadori Education and schools that innovate, using inclusion and sustainability
Our publishing house Mondadori Education devotes special attention to the theme of gender equality and language as a tool for inclusion. Beginning with the new Devoto-Oli dictionary, which reflects the dynamism of the Italian language and, even more important, of Italian society. In October 2021 the publishing house organised an online event to open a debate on the role of language as the pathway to respect, listening and dialogue. A pathway exemplified by “#LeParoleCheSiamo, la scuola che vogliamo”, a competition that puts the ideas of students from all classes and schools at the centre of attention to build the school of the future.
