Mondadori Store, the largest network of bookshops in Italy, will open a new cultural hub on 2 May at the Perla dello Stretto Shopping Centre in Villa San Giovanni (Reggio Calabria), serving the local community and book lovers alike.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony, taking place at 5.00 pm, will be attended by Mayor Giusy Caminiti and the President of the City Council with responsibility for Culture, Caterina Trecroci.

The new Mondadori Bookstore spans 110 square metres and features a modern layout with areas dedicated to different literary genres. Visitors will be welcomed by an experienced team of booksellers and a curated catalogue of around 8,000 titles, ranging from great classics to bestsellers, including fiction, non-fiction, international works and educational titles. The space is also devoted to local publishing.

“The opening of the Mondadori Bookstore in Villa San Giovanni, a historic town overlooking the Strait of Messina, stems from our desire to create a new cultural hub in a place that has been entirely without one and has long been eager for it,” explains Chiara Crispino, a Mondadori Store franchisee who, as Managing Director of Caium Srl, oversees a further 11 bookshops across Abruzzo, Calabria, Campania, Marche, Molise and Puglia. “Our aim is to create a vibrant, welcoming meeting place, as well as somewhere people can truly experience culture,” Crispino concludes.

The Villa San Giovanni store offers all the latest releases, with themed areas designed to cater to every reader’s interests, including We are Junior, , a space for younger readers featuring educational games and illustrated books to spark their imagination; Just Comics, dedicated to the world of manga and graphic novels; and My New Romance, a new concept  aimed at fans of romance fiction, one of today’s most popular literary genres.The store also stocks a wide selection of stationery, toys, gifts and gift cards.

The Mondadori Bookstore in Villa San Giovanni also serves readers online: customers can stay up to date via its  Instagram and Facebookpages. In addition, they can use the digital services available on  Mondadoristore.it  to check book availability. Telephone ordering is also available. Among the services offered is Zeercle, which allows customers to sell their books, as well as CDs, vinyl records, physical video games, DVDs and Blu-ray discs, in exchange for a gift card reflecting the assessed value of the items, redeemable in Mondadori bookshops and on mondadoristore.it
