INTERNI participates again this year in Cersaie, the International Exhibition of Ceramic Tile and Bathroom Furnishings, which will be held in Bologna from 21 to 25 September 2026. The magazine of interiors and contemporary design of the Mondadori Group presents, together with Cersaie, the Lectio Magistralis of Alejandro Aravena, among the most authoritative protagonists of the international scene, on themes of architecture, living and the transformation of cities.

The meeting is set for Thursday 24 September at 10.30 am at EuropauditoriumPalazzo dei Congressi di BolognaFiere, inside Building, dwelling, thinking, the cultural program of Cersaie dedicated to great architecture and design.

Architect, urban planner and professor, Alejandro Aravena has developed a design research focused on the relationship between space and people, with particular attention to the themes of living, sustainability and urban transformation. In 2001 he founded ELEMENTAL, studio and “Do Tank” dedicated to the design of interventions of public and social interest, developing an approach capable of combining architectural quality, available resources and community needs.

In 2016 Aravena received the Pritzker Prize and, in the same year, was curator of the XV Biennale di Architettura di Venezia, titled Reporting from the Front. Among the numerous awards received are also the Silver Lion at the Venice Biennale in 2008 and the Gothenburg Award for Sustainable Development in 2017.

His vision considers the project as a tool capable of responding to the transformations of society and the challenges of the present, connecting social responsibility, sustainability and quality of living. The Lectio will offer the opportunity to delve deeper into the thought and method of Aravena and reflect on the role of the discipline in the definition of cities and places in which we live.

The participation in the conference gives right to 2 Professional Educational Credits for architects (to register).

The magazine will propose a special setup of the Lounge Bar Gardens 25/26, with furnishings by Pedrali.

In the same week, INTERNI will be for the first time media partner of BOLD – Bologna Live Design, now in its second edition. From 19 to 27 September, Palazzo Isolani will host installations and projects of companies and designers, the former Chiesa di San Mattia will host Paesaggi Urbani – Urban Landscapes, with the visions of Aldo Aymonino, Stefano Boeri, Michele De Lucchi, Doriana and Massimiliano Fuksas, Massimo Iosa Ghini, Kengo Kuma & Associates, Piero Lissoni, Elena Salmistraro and Matteo Thun, called to translate their idea of city on large ceramic slabs, while Palazzo Zambeccari will be the venue of GUADI by Fabio Iemmi.

A new collaboration that expands the narrative of INTERNI on project culture, connecting protagonists, languages and places through which contemporaneity is expressed.
