New Mondadori Bookstore opens today in Milan on Corso Buenos Aires

Growth continues for Mondadori Store, Italy’s largest bookstore network with over 500 points of sale

Carmine Perna, Chief Executive Officer of Mondadori Retail: “We are opening in a place that is emblematic of everyday life in Milan: a highly visible, high footfall location designed for a broad and diverse audience”

The Mondadori Bookstore on Corso Buenos Aires in Milan opens today, a new landmark for book and entertainment lovers, serving the local neighbourhood and the wide public that animates one of Italy’s most important shopping streets.

The bookstore, presented this morning by Carmine Perna, Chief Executive Officer of Mondadori Retail, together with Alessia Cappello, Councillor for Economic Development and Employment Policies, and Emmanuel Conte, Councillor for Budget, State Property and the Extraordinary Housing Plan of the Municipality of Milan, will open to the public at 5.30 pm following the traditional ribbon cutting ceremony.

“The Mondadori Bookstore on Corso Buenos Aires is located in a place that is emblematic of everyday life in Milan: a highly visible, high footfall space designed for a broad and diverse audience,” said Carmine Perna, Chief Executive Officer of Mondadori Retail. “It represents another growth opportunity for our network, with the aim of opening 30 bookstores in 2026, both directly managed and franchised. This confirms our commitment to creating meeting places and promoting reading within the community,” Perna concluded.

The Mondadori Bookstore on Corso Buenos Aires enriches the cultural offering of the bookstore network of the Mondadori Group company in central Milan, joining the flagship Mondadori Duomo store in Piazza Duomo, the iconic Rizzoli Milano in Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, recently renovated last May, as well as the bookstores in Crocetta and Via Marghera.

With this new opening, Mondadori Store, Italy’s largest bookstore network, brings its total number of outlets in Lombardy to 56, including both directly operated stores and franchises, of which 13 are in Milan, with a presence also in residential areas from Lambrate to Bicocca and Cascina Merlata, as well as in neighbourhoods with strong local services such as San Gottardo and Rombon, where a new neighbourhood bookstore concept has recently been opened inside a redeveloped covered market.

A RICH CULTURAL OFFERING
In dialogue with its urban surroundings, the new Mondadori Bookstore features 12 shopfront windows overlooking Corso Buenos Aires and Piazza Lima, and covers an area of 350 square metres. The spacious and bright environment has been designed as a welcoming place for readers of all generations. Among the shelves, every visitor will find content that best suits their interests, thanks to a catalogue of around 20,000 titles, from classics to bestsellers, including fiction, non-fiction, general interest and international books.

The bookshop brings together all the latest releases alongside dedicated thematic areas designed to meet the tastes of every reader, such asWe are Junior, , a space for younger audiences featuring educational games and illustrated books to spark imagination through engaging stories; Just Comics, the section dedicated to the manga and comics phenomenon; and My New Romance, a new concept for those who enjoy the romanceuniverse, one of today’s most popular literary genres. The store also offers a wide selection of stationery, toys, music, gadgets and gift cards.

With the aim of fostering the cultural fabric of the Milanese neighbourhood and one of Europe’s longest shopping streets, the Mondadori Bookstore on Corso Buenos Aires will host initiatives and events designed to create opportunities for engagement and participation. Starting today at 6 pm, author Cordelia Evora will meet readers and sign copies of her latest book Bitter Sweet (Sperling & Kupfer).

Upcoming events include three book signings: on 11 May at 5 pm, singer Rob, winner of the latest edition of X Factor, on the occasion of the release of her new EP “CHAOS PERFETTO”; on 24 May at 3 pm, Corinne Wilson with The Last Meeting (Sperling & Kupfer), dedicated to all romance readers; and on 26 May at 6.30 pm, comic artist Jordi Lafebre with Io sono un angelo perduto (Bao Publishing).
