CONTESTS AND COMPETITIONS
Among the new features of Il Festival dello Spettacolo, TV Sorrisi e Canzoni presents two initiatives dedicated to discovering and promoting new talents: the Vertical Music Contest and the first Film Competition, two paths designed to give visibility to musicians, authors, and creators of unreleased audiovisual works.
The Vertical Music Contest, a multimedia project created in collaboration with Interproject, was created to showcase unreleased tracks through the language of video. The best talents will perform on stage at the Festival. Applications are open until 15 September. The finalists will be selected by a jury comprising representatives of TV Sorrisi e Canzoni, ADA/Warner Music Italy, FIMI – Federazione Industria Musicale Italiana, Ticketmaster, and Assomusica. The winner will secure a distribution contract with ADA Music Italy.
Also making its debut is the first Film Competition, dedicated to authors and creators of unreleased audiovisual works, aiming to spotlight emerging talents and offer new visibility opportunities. The competition is divided into three sections: Frame Stories (short films), Opera Next (feature films), and Docu Horizon (documentaries). The works will be evaluated by an exceptional jury that will award the Sorrisi Award for each category. Applications can be submitted via the FilmFreeway platform by 10 September 2026.
