Over 400 works explore the origins, legacy, and key figures of Metaphysical Art, one of the most influential artistic movements of the 20th century: through June 21, Electa Editore invites you to Palazzo Reale in Milan for the major exhibition “Metafisica/Metafisiche. Modernity and Melancholy.”

A one-of-a-kind exhibition featuring paintings, sculptures, photographs, drawings, design objects, architectural models, illustrations, comics, magazines, videos, and vinyl records on loan from public and private institutions, galleries, archives, and prestigious collections across Italy and abroad.

The exhibition is the centerpiece of a wide-ranging project, curated by Vincenzo Trione, that brings the masters of metaphysics into dialogue with their international “heirs” and “students” of the 20th and 21st centuries, creating a journey that spans the city with three exhibition chapters at the Museo del Novecento, the Gallerie d’Italia, and Palazzo Citterio.

The project, promoted by the Ministry of Culture and the City of Milan, is produced by Palazzo Reale, the Museo del Novecento, Grande Brera-Palazzo Citterio, and Gallerie d’Italia, in collaboration with our publishing house.
