A brand new location for Mondadori Bookstore in Chivasso
The historical bookshop is moving to a new location in the city centre and will continue to serve all culture lovers, and especially to young people and schools
After a short wait, the Mondadori Bookstore in Chivasso is reopening in the centre of town, with more modern spaces to offer the city a new cultural landmark.
‘After 14 years of books, meetings and shared stories, Mondadori Bookstore in Chivasso is moving house. Change is a challenge, but also an opportunity: a new location, a renovated shop, a work culture that evolves without losing what has made us what we are,’ says Daniela Pentenero, Mondadori Store franchisee. ‘We have chosen to test ourselves, strengthened by the experience we have built over the years, with a desire to explore new spaces and welcome new opportunities. Our bond with readers remains strong, as does the attention we have always paid to meeting people who love reading,’ Pentenero concludes.
The new, renovated shop, which will be inaugurated tomorrow, falls in line with the strategy of Mondadori Store, the largest network of bookshops in Italy, to promote reading and create interactive meeting places.
In addition to a wide selection of books, the Mondadori Bookstore in Chivasso also stands out for its commitment to offering cultural services for the area. One of its many initiatives involves subscriptions to museums in Piedmont and Lombardy. The bookstore also places a particular focus on young people and education, which is why it is a member of the #ioleggoperché project, a national initiative to educate and promote reading that has helped enrich the book selection at school libraries throughout Italy.
The new shop also participates in ‘Alunni in libreria’, the Mondadori Store initiative that has placed Mondadori Store bookshops and schools in contact for over twenty years to get students involved in reading and culture.
The Mondadori Bookstore in Chivasso will also host numerous events. The first appointment is already scheduled for 21 March at 5:30 p.m. Antonella Frontani, author of ‘Il silenzio della marea’ will present her novel released on 21 February.
The new Mondadori Bookstore in Chivasso covers 100 square metres with a catalogue of over 12,000 titles, from the great classics to best sellers, including fiction, non-fiction and miscellaneous. Special attention is focused on younger readers with the We are Junior format, which includes educational games and picture books to stimulate their imagination, and an area dedicated exclusively to children from 0 to 9 years old. There will also be a Just Comics department dedicated to manga and comics. Areas dedicated to #BookTok, for the new generation of readers, as well as stationery, gift boxes and gift cards, also expand the store’s selection.
The Mondadori Bookstore in Chivasso also serves readers online: customers can stay up to date through the Instagram and Facebook pages. They will also be able to get in touch with the store through Mondadoristore.it digital services to check if a book is available, order it and pick it up in store, choosing from a catalogue of over 1 million titles. The bookstore will also offer customers the opportunity to place orders via phone.
The new Mondadori Bookstore follows the renewal and development plan for Mondadori Store, the largest bookstore network in Italy, with more than 500 stores in cities and smaller towns. The cultural organisation is active throughout the country, online with the e-commerce site Mondadoristore.it and the book club. In addition to books, its primary service, it also provides entertainment, events and multichannel services, reaching more than 20 million customers every year.
